This is a short unit for ages 8-12, that combines geometry and art. Each class, students will engage in a different art project that reinforces important mathematical skills, such as accurate measuring, while informally learning basic geometry concepts. For this course, students will need basic art supplies on-hand: ruler, colored pencils, copy paper, scissors, and a black sharpie. Nov. 29th - Paper Tiles (Symmetry) Dec. 1st - Origami (Symmetry) Dec. 6th - Square Stacks (Measurement and Similar Figures) Dec. 8th - Cardioids (Measurement, Lines, and Perimeter) Dec. 13th - One Point Perspective (Parallel, Perpendicular, and Intersecting Lines) Dec. 15th - Tessellations (Shape Transformations) *This class has a minimum enrollment of 3 students. You will not be charged/will be refunded if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment- but we would love for you to tell your friends and help us fill the class.
