About the Course
This course builds on geometric concepts that students have been exposed to in earlier grades, but with one key difference that students must prove and explain the concepts. Students will build chains of reasoning to explain, model and prove geometric relationships and situations involving parallel and perpendicular lines, the coordinate plane, polygons, circles, trigonometry, congruence and similarity, surface area, volume, and transformations. Mrs. Math recommends this course for any middle school or high school student that has successfully completed Algebra 1.
This online course will include 34.5 weeks of live instruction, printable coursework for each unit, assessments, and a comprehensive solutions manual for students and parents.

Meet the Instructor
Amanda Stunes
My name is Amanda Stunes. I have been an educator for 16 years, and am the founder of Mrs. Math. I have always found joy in mathematics, choosing to take advanced math courses throughout my college years for personal enrichment, while working toward my BS in Education from the University of Arizona. I started my teaching career in 2008 at a public elementary school in Tucson, AZ, but quickly discovered my passion for teaching mathematics and moved to middle grade instruction, where I taught 6th grade math through 8th grade Algebra I for high-school credit. I pride myself in the relationships I built with students and their families, and was awarded Teacher of the Year after my students showed considerable growth on their state assessments. I am equally passionate about gifted education, and have presented my gifted curriculum at the AAGT (Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented) Conference. In my free time, I am engaged with my local church and run a meetup group for fellow pug-lovers. I enjoy playing board games, hiking, and traveling with my husband and our two kids.
I enjoy teaching students on skills that they are missing, while also finding an enjoyable and relatable way to connect with them. Especially with mathematics, students get discouraged when something is challenging for them, but my goal is for all students to have fun while building up their confidence and excelling in math. My passion is teaching, and I am excited for the opportunity to be your child’s instructor!
