Pre-Algebra
Pre-Algebra is a primary branch of algebra designed to prepare students for high school algebra and beyond. Students expand their knowledge of real numbers and their operations and explore solving a variety of problems using variables. Taking a pre-algebra course can give students initial exposure to the fundamentals of algebra and help them perform better in future courses. Mrs. Math recommends this course for students ages 12+ who are ready to explore these topics.

Algebra I
This course is a comprehensive elementary algebra course that does an in-depth exploration of variables, algebraic expressions, equations, inequalities, functions, and all their multiple representations. Students will explore solving real-world application problems, demonstrate the appropriate use of graphing calculators, and communicate mathematical ideas clearly. This course lays the foundation for mathematical literacy that will help students be successful in every subsequent course in mathematics. Mrs. Math recommends this course for any middle school or high school student that has successfully completed pre-algebra.

Geometry
This course builds on geometric concepts that students have been exposed to in earlier grades, but with one key difference that students must prove and explain the concepts. Students will build chains of reasoning to explain, model and prove geometric relationships and situations involving parallel and perpendicular lines, the coordinate plane, polygons, circles, trigonometry, congruence and similarity, surface area, volume, and transformations.

Algebra II
This course will explore advanced concepts and applications, and is designed to build upon the foundational knowledge acquired in Algebra 1, exploring more complex mathematical concepts and their real-world applications. This course delves into the intricate world of algebraic expressions, equations, functions, and their graphical representations. Sample topics include polynomial functions, rational expressions and equations, exponential and logarithmic functions, arithmetic and geometric series, and conic sections. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in algebraic concepts, preparing them for advanced mathematics courses and real-world applications in fields such as science, engineering, economics, and finance.
