Service Description

Instructor: Samantha Cawthon This course is the equivalent of a 5th grade elementary level math course. This course prepares students for the transition to middle school mathematics by reinforcing arithmetic skills and introducing more advanced topics such as multi-step fraction operations, decimal computation, early algebraic reasoning, and more advanced geometry concepts. Students will deepen their conceptual understanding while strengthening problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Mrs. Math recommends this course for students ages 10-11, or for motivated learners who have completed a 4th-grade level math curriculum. Enrollment age is flexible - contact Mrs. Math with placement questions. This online course includes 34.5 weeks of live instruction, printable coursework for each unit, assessments, and a full solutions manual for students and parents. SEMESTER 1 CONTENT: Unit 1: Review of Whole Numbers and Place Value Unit 2: Decimal Operations Unit 3: Fraction Multiplication and Division Unit 4: Advanced Fraction Concepts SEMESTER 2 CONTENT: Unit 5: Algebraic Reasoning Unit 6: Measurement Conversions and Applications Unit 7: Geometry Unit 8: Data and Statistics
